We were welcomed home from our Disney vacation to the news that our new baby girl, Olivia, had just had major surgery.

The Good News is that 1) my daughter was astute enough to get our granddaughter to the hospital on time, 2) they had a great surgeon and 3) the baby so far is doing just great.

It never ceases to amaze me how lucky we are to be alive in this day and age. If this had occurred just a few years ago, the results might have been totally different.

1. Oldest son got his college diploma in the mail today, whew! He is very excited.
2. Got alignment in a business venture, whew!
3. Finished and turned in two articles today, whew!
4. Sent off two business proposals that have been haunting me for weeks, whew!
5. Reconnected with a floundering relationship, whew!
6. Husband is thrilled with results of bowling stuff, eyes crossing!
7. Yesterday's lead story on the 10PM news was the 1/2 inch snowfall yesterday morning, people were annoyed.

Taking my six year old to Disney this week. After his intersession a couple of months ago, he came home and told me that he was the ONLY kid in his class that didn't go away during the vacation. EVERYONE WENT TO DISNEY....

Parental guilt and we're off to Disney. We'll say hi to Mickey and Minnie for everyone.

Any suggestions on how to survive Disney with a six year old are welcome.

My wife made a major mistake. She told my 6 year old son that if he ate carrots at dinner he could have a lizard. What 6 year old won't chow down some carrots for a lizard.

Well, we are now the proud parents of a bearded dragon named Jeffrey. Now, that would not be too bad if taking care of a lizard was an easy task. Not so...they eat live crickets daily. Means a trip to the pet store at least twice a week...

Oh joy!
